Doug Adams is a folk singer who performs the old ballads and simple songs that shaped the 60’s generation. Sing along to the songs you remember and know by heart. The music speaks louder than words.

Ross Skaggs began performing 12-string Christian folk music as a teen in the 1960’s and played primarily in churches and mission fields for the next 40 years.  He enjoys playing at acoustic jams, libraries, farmers markets, fairs & festivals, coffee shops, fundraisers and schools. He presents a variety of family-friendly folk ballads, 60’s music, country folk, children’s tunes, old favorites and gospel (both traditional and contemporary) as well as fun ‘parody songs’.

Mark Hodges has been performing publicly since the age of four and has played self-taught guitar since the age of 9.  Among other jobs, he has been in radio since 1976 and is currently an announcer for WTGN Lima.  His various bands have played coffeehouses and venues at Michigan State University and around Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio.  He has recorded four albums of original Christian folk/rock, including, "He Reigns!," "Elijah!," "Wherever You Go," and "Truth and Life."  His favorite music; however, is pop and R&B oldies and his favorite artists are The Beatles and Gladys Knight and The Pips.

Chuck Summers, saxophonist, used to play with James Brown, as well as the Ohio Players of Dayton. He has travelled with several well-known jazz groups and currently resides in Lima, Ohio where he plays in the praise and worship band at Only Believe Ministries. Chuck likes to play all types of music and specializes in smooth jazz.

Emmelina Bales is a senior at Ada High School. In addition to playing piano, she also likes to play ukelele, guitar, and marimba. She plays a wide variety of music including top hits, classical, the Beatles, Disney tunes, classic rock, country and movie scores.

Pianist Dean Altstaetter grew up in Northwest Ohio. As a piano performance major he studied classical music with Marvin Blickenstaff at Goshen College, IN. He studied piano teaching at The Ohio State University and music theory/compostion/jazz at Bowling Green State University. He served on the piano faculty at Ohio Northern University for 13 years. On the weekends he is playing keyboards with the local rock band, the Hipnotix, from Lima, OH.  He is also the principle organist/ pianist at Trinity United Methodist Church. Currently he is the coordinator of outreach recruitment and enrollment advisor in the office of admission at ONU. He offers a wide range of music including vocal standards, show tunes, jazz, blues and has expanded on the traditional lounge repertoire to include classic rock, r & b and some of today’s hits by request.

SAMAX is a trio music act from Lima/Columbus Grove, Ohio. Playing a multitude of genres, the trio is comprised of Samantha Razinger (vocals), Max Razinger (guitar/vocals), and Nick Piper (drums). Having played a variety of venues and settings over the past three years, SAMAX is sure to provide an entertaining performance for any audience!

*Steven Blake is a sophomore Pharmacy major from Rootstown, OH (near Kent State University) who has been playing piano for over fifteen years. Mostly, he enjoys playing classical music (especially music of Mozart, Chopin, and Debussy) as well as New Age music and everything in-between. As well, he is a member of the Ohio Northern Symphony Orchestra and other campus organizations.

Fred Reid is from the Upper Sandusky area and his two children are ONU Alumni. Fred also has a grand-daughter who is in her 6th year of the Pharmacy program here at ONU. Fred tells us that ONU was instrumental in his music career. As a seventh grader in the Ada schools, Fred saw a Dance Band performance in Presser Hall that ultimately changed his life. He decided then as a young man, that he wanted to play in the bands of the Big Band Era when he grew up. To accomplish this goal, Fred spent time with the Air Force Band honing his musical skills. And after his military career he polished his skills playing with several big bands during the Big Band Dance Era. He refers to his style of music as “cocktail music”. Fred’s versatility makes him a great feature for The Inn. So, come out and listen to Fred play music from all genres including the Big Band Era.

Elesha Wey is a graduate of Ohio Northern University where she received her Bachelors degree in piano performance. She is currently establishing her piano studio in the Lima area, where she enjoys teaching students of all ages. She accompanies for both ensembles and solo performers, as well as performing for weddings and other local events.

Jonathan Wey is a graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied both composition and piano. He also holds a Masters degree in choral conducting from Butler University. Today he makes his home in northwest Ohio where he writes music and plays for weddings and other local events. He features a wide—and sometimes eclectic—range of styles varying from classical to vocal standards to pop and movie music.

In this age of high tech music, it’s sometimes nice to know that someone can still make music the “old fashioned way”. Jim Boedicker’s unique “fingerstyle” guitar-playing appeals to a wide range of audiences. His repertoire includes many humorous songs, occasionally some trick guitar work, standards, and serious songs that can speak to and stay with his audiences. His casual style works equally well in a large concert setting or a small intimate group, and he especially enjoys performing family venues.

Maria DiPietro  (jazz singer) and Chris Buzzelli (guitar) Maria and Chris are a local jazz duo performing standards from the American Song Book.
